3+ hour, 6+ min ago (148+ words) The 4-7 Falcons will try to keep climbing, while the 2-9 Jets will hope to be frisky. Hail, traveler! It's nearly time for Falcons football again. This time out, it'll be a Falcons - Jets game, a series where the Falcons and Jets have managed to score over 28 points just once, when New York did it in 2013. These games tend to be close, they tend to be unspeakably ugly, and the Falcons tend to win them. As long as that last thing happens and we get a more enjoyable effort than usual, I'll consider it a good Sunday. Use this as your open thread, and go Falcons! Let's get the saddest hate week in a while out of the way. How confident are you in the direction of this Falcons team? Take our survey and talk about it in the comments....
What if the Falcons win/lose against the New York Jets in 2025
7+ hour, 36+ min ago (584+ words) Well, no matter what happens the rest of the season, at least the Falcons won't be getting swept by the Saints. In a season of catastrophe, that would have been the final stake into the proverbial heart of this franchise, in 2025. Coming off of the rivalry win in New Orleans, the Falcons are still in a really bad spot as far as 2025 playoff contention goes, sitting at 4-7. They do have a chance to inch back ever closer to that .500 mark with a date against the 2-9 Jets, who are in the midst of their own even greater struggles at the moment. Here is the scenario the Falcons face if they beat the New York Jets in Week 13, as well as if they lose. They will come step closer toward undoing the just about fatal damage done during that five game losing…...
Intriguing players to watch in Falcons vs. Jets
7+ hour, 36+ min ago (578+ words) Naming five Atlanta Falcons we are thankful for ahead of this Jets game. Even though Thanksgiving has passed, there are many things we are thankful for. The Atlanta Falcons beat the hated New Orleans Saints last week, and hopefully can make it two in a row with another win over the New York Jets in Week 13. The potential for the team to put together a late-season win streak creates plenty of intrigue for this matchup. And thus, five Falcons must be named who will captivate our attention this weekend as we continue to show our gratitude. Quarterback Kirk Cousins" 83.3 PFF grade against the Saints was the third-highest of his tenure as a Falcon. Therefore, we can be thankful that he did not forget how to play quarterback, as the Falcons evolved their offense into a play-action, under-center-heavy attack for the…...

Falcons vs. Jets: A look at the series history going into 2025
1+ day, 36+ min ago (451+ words) The Jets are the team against whom the Falcons have had the most success The Atlanta Falcons, thanks to their pathetic overall history, have a winning record against just seven of 32 teams in the NFL. The New York Jets are not only one of those seven teams, but they are also the team against whom the Birds have the most statistical success against across the league. Though they have not met many times, the Falcons sport a 9-5 record against the Jets, which is good for their highest win percentage against anybody, at 64.3%. Since the turn of the millennia, it's been all Falcons, however. Atlanta has won five out of six matchups since the "90s turned to the "00s, with New York's only triumph coming on Monday Night Football in that nightmare 2013 season. That was the game where Julio Jones broke his foot…...
Falcons pass rush takes critical step towards sustained success
1+ day, 23+ hour ago (506+ words) The Falcons are finally developing an effective four-man rush. Can they sustain it? Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich's vision for an enhanced pass rush centered on a sustainable four-man rush. He said as much after the team's dual first-round selections of edge rushers Jalon Walker and James Pearce in this past year's draft: "The best defenses are the ones where they have four down, five down, they get down and they got guys that can just win. The people that are constantly fabricating defense and gimmicking things up'there's good weeks, there's bad weeks, there's good weeks, there's bad weeks. And we're trying to create greatness here that can be sustained." The Falcons finally achieved that greatness in their Week 12 win over the New Orleans Saints, and hopefully, it's the first of many more days like that to come. But…...
What impact could an end of the season run have on the Falcons future?
2+ day, 3+ hour ago (390+ words) Big decisions are ahead for Raheem Morris and Kirk Cousins, among other Falcons. The odds of making the playoffs are slim, but the Atlanta Falcons could still end the season with 7 or 8 wins. Not the goal anyone had at the beginning of the season, but will in-season circumstances sway ownership when Week 18 comes to a close? Since Michael Penix Jr. went down and Kirk Cousins went under center, we've heard a lot of different quotes to explain why that hasn't happened. Cousins is more comfortable; Zac Robinson has reiterated that they can still have success doing the same things out of the pistol. If you've been paying close attention to the Falcons since 2024, this likely rubbed you the wrong way. If the offense works itself back to looking functional, it wouldn't be the first time Atlanta's brass plays it safe…...
Keeping an eye on some key injuries ahead of the Jets game.
2+ day, 22+ hour ago (227+ words) Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We have a look at the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets practice reports for Thursday, as the two struggling teams prepare to face off on Sunday. " LB Malik Verdon (shoulder) " LG Matthew Bergeron (ankle) " WR KhaDarel Hodge (shoulder) " LB JD Bertrand (knee) " RG Chris Lindstrom (foot) " WR Drake London (knee) " LB Josh Woods (hamstring) " DL Harrison Phillips (foot) " OL Joe Tippmann (personal) Looking at the Jets, they easily have the smallest injury report that I have seen all season. Only two of their players were listed, with the one missing practice, lineman Joe Tippmann, only missing due to personal reasons. Their defensive lineman Harrison Phillips is dealing with a foot injury which has him limited in practice, although it doesn't sound that serious to keep him out on Sunday. The Falcons lose key two defenders, and…...
